SFI FAQs
We have never baled hay before on our property. Can you teach us how?
Many of our customers have never baled hay or operated a baler and the related equipment. We can travel to your farm, deliver your equipment, fit everything to your tractor(s), and then show you how to operate and maintain it. Some people find it easy enough to learn on their own.
How do you ship the balers, mowers, and rakes?
We can deliver your equipment fully assembled at a competitive shipping rate and we can show you how to operate it. You can also take the less expensive route and have it truck shipped. We will still be on the phone to give you support.
What should I do before my equipment arrives?
Make sure the lift arms on your tractor(s) are lubricated and functioning properly, all tires are fully inflated, the brakes and steering work without issues, and the PTO shaft is clean from rust and well-lubricated. Also, ensure that the delivery truck can get in and out of your place fairly easily.
What type of twine do these balers use?
Any US-made twine.
How many bales will a roll of net wrap cover from the MRB 855?
300 if you wrap twice and 250 if you wrap three times. Net wrap can be purchased from Small Farm Innovations for $95.00 per roll for a 5000ft roll.
How many bales can the SFI Twine 2x2 bale in an hour?
100 per hour in good condition.
How many bales can the MRB 855 bale an hour?
150 per hour in good condition.
Why should I buy a more expensive net wrap baler?
If you’re going to sell your hay and it’s going to be handled a lot, there will be much less loss, plus net-wrapped bales look better. If you bale leaves, pine, rice, or wheat straw for mulch, the net wrap is the way to go.
How many bales can the RB981 NSF 3x3 bale in an hour?
